Trinity was organized as the Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Silverton, Oregon. The present name was adopted in 1917. It was a member of the Norwegian Synod and formed by a group of Scandinavians who came out from the Midwest. The first pastor came in 1893, and a church was erected that year.
